DESCRIPTION:  The renovation and addition of the Mason City Public Library (original design by Holabird and Root, 1939) provides Mason City, Iowa with a fully modernized facility that weaves current technology and culture into the original historic character.  With the addition of the Commons, a central cafe and social gathering space, the building has become a dynamic community hub.  The library features community meeting spaces, historic archives, and genealogical resources.  We worked very closely with the library's diverse stakeholders, and supported fundraising and referendum activity.
