MODERN BARBECUE HOUSE AND GARDEN
When our modernist clients couldn't find a home that suited their aspirations for design and quality in their chosen neighborhood, they purchased a conventional frame home, and renovated it to make it their own. To realize their vision, we completely re-established the home's appearance and interior spatial openness front and back, with a new front facade, rear entry addition, sculpted garden and garage.
Removing the original front porch and replacing the existing small windows brings abundant daylighting and creates connection to the street. The wood-accented articulation of the new front entry, rainscreen cladding, stairs and landscaping gives the home a warm, clean and inviting appearance, that flows all the way through to the rear of the home, complimenting the streamlined interior design.
In the rear, we replaced a cramped and awkward rear addition with a glassy Mud Room and entry stair that opens the Kitchen and Family Room to the garden. An Argentine wood-burning barbecue is the focal point of the lush and peaceful outdoor cooking and dining patio, offering the family a stunning place to gather over food and drink with friends and family.
